Summary: We stayed here a year ago and loved it. The rooms were beautifully decorated and furnished and the location was ideal. This time we stayed in a different (slightly more expensive) room. The room was impeccably clean and was well decorated. The drains in the bathroom appeared to be a little 'off' but the smell did eventually clear. In the late evening we noticed a banging /humming noise which sounded a little like someone drilling or a failling electonic pump. The noise was intermittent but incredibly irritating. We finally managed to get to sleep. In the morning (of a 2 night stay) i reported it to the staff at breakfast. Upon our return late in the day i asked if it had been looked at. The manager said he had not been told about it and to be fair he did come up and listen. He said he would not have time to investigate as he was busy elsewhere and that the hotel was fully booked and so we could not move to a quieter room. We had another disrupted night and left in the morning. I really hope that we will be able to stay again one day but i would avoid room 14 unless they have got this sorted. I would generally highly recommended this place. Shame that something so small completely marred or weekend as we couldn't sleep.
